I would be surprised if that card would get anywhere near 80C. Your max temp of around 75C seems normal for X51. To be honest i doubt you are experiencing thermal throttling. Hopefully someone with more knowledge than I will chip in.īest of luck! Now don't go frying your beast! heh I am not sure if throttle speed, as you describe it is something to adjust. You could always make sure the heatsink is not dusty (the graphic card cover) see if it could use a re-pasting, and also adjust fan speed. I dunno if something like a 'governor' is putting a cap on the output of your card, but if so, this could be a good thing. Usually if a card gets over-heated the game/system starts to lag, skip or the pc just shuts down so it can cool off. Not to mention that the life of the card itself is pretty comprimised as well as whatever is around it, which in that paticuliar tower, is everything. One, the X51 is pretty tightly packed.so if the GC is running that hot, it is affecting everything around it as well. Yea, it is interesting how across the board opinions vary when it comes to graphic card temps.
